After a two-year break, ICDP-EGER began drilling on Friday 5-Nov-2021 again. The S4 Bažina well, near the village of Libá in the Cheb region, is being drilled with a diameter of 140 mm, which was reduced to PQ (117.5 mm) after 46 m. At the moment borehole is 127 m deep. The whole well is cored and the recovery of the material is very good, around 90 %. The core will be subjected to different chemical and biological analyzes, a borehole seismometer will be placed at the bottom of the well (approx. 400 m) in the future. More info.
