Seismological data

Seismological measurements and observations provide useful information for a variety of users from the public, state agencies  including rescue teams and the research community which deals with seismic hazard, structure and dynamics of the Earth.
Infrastructure CzechGeo/EPOS joins Czech institutions operating seismic stations for long-term monitoring and research studies. Seismological Service carries out data collection, archiving, international data exchage and basic interpretation of records of stations of the Czech Regional Seismic Network. The cooperation of the partners within the infrastructure is instrumental for the operation of the Service. Detailed studies of recorded data are carried out in individual reaserch groups and in international projects. We offer different types of output of the infrastructure:

•    Regularly updated maps of interpreted seismic events in the Czech Republic and in Europe during the last month
•    Daily seismograms which illustrate seismic activity at individual stations
•    Macroseismic observations of felt seismic events reported by citizens in shaken regions
•    Seismic bulletins and catalogues of earthquakes, i.e. summary of recorded and located seismic events
•    Digital records of seismic stations in online or offline regimes

More information about all these products and the access can be found in individual items of the left menu. For the information about significant earthquakes in the world we refer to the web pages of the European Seismological Centre (EMSC) and  U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
